As a Essential Baby member and pram addict I was more than happy to write a review on my gorgeous yellow Stokke Xplory and talk about the pram that has surpassed my (high) expectations.
The Xplory is certainly an eye catcher for its sleek looking design and gorgeous coloured fabric and as I pushed it around it has produced many questions and positive comments (and more than a few stares) from people.
Seat
One of the great features of the Xplory are the many options for seating. The seat is quite tall so is suitable from small babies up to toddler age and possibly beyond. The seat has multiple heights that are easily adjustable via a small lever attached to the frame. This gives you the option of having your child at eye level regardless of their and your height. This was the feature my husband loved the most as it meant no bending down to take your child out of the pram and you could look at your child eye to eye. The seat can either face you or face outwards which I found was a lovely feature as I could talk face to face with my son when we were out shopping. Removing the seat is simple with 2 easily accessible buttons on each side of the seat.
The seat offers 3 recline positions when facing you and 2 when facing outwards. When the seat is facing you the layback position is more than suitable for a very young baby if you decided not to purchase the bassinet as it also comes with a head snug. The most upright position was suitable for my just turned 3-year-old as well as the outward facing recline laying back far enough for him to have a nap. To adjust the tilt of the seat is simply done by a single lever (on each side) under the seat that means you can still use the other hand to support the seat into the desired position.
Foot Rest
The seat can be used with or without the footrest. The footrest has several height settings and is adjustable by a lever on each side. The footrest is made from hardwearing plastic which means the footrest doesn’t seem to mark and if it gets dirty can be wiped clean easily.
Harness
The Xplory has an easy to use adjustable 5 point harness with 3 height positions. It comes with harness protectors but I found that due to the good fit the harness never rubbed on my son’s face, even when he was sleeping. The buckle is easy to clip in and my son was unable to unclip so it worked a charm.
Handle
The Xplory has an oval shaped handle that is both adjustable up and down the frame as well as having a tilt option to get it to exactly the right angle for the person pushing. Although it is made from the same plastic as the frame and has no foam covering I found it to be very soft on my hands.
Hood
The hood has three positions from closed to completely open. It is domed shape and provides good coverage, especially when the seat is reclined. Due to the shape of the hood my son’s head never touched the top.
Folding
A simple fold and unfold makes the Xplory easy to quickly pop in the boot. When the seat is facing you it needs to be removed to fold the frame but when the seat is facing outwards the frame can be folded with the seat attached. To provide the most compact fold the seat would need to be removed and the handle adjusted to the shortest setting. With the seat removed and the handle adjusted to the shortest setting it easily fitted in the boot of my Mazda 6 hatch. The fold is very flat but somewhat long and you may struggle to fit the pram into a very small car. The frame, although not the lightest I have picked up, was more than manageable to lift and put in the car.
Manoeuvrability
This is probably where the Xplory stands out for me. The rubber wheels make it an extra smooth ride and accompanied with the front swivel wheels makes it a breeze to push both indoors and out. The width of the pram means I was able to fit through any register I encountered and even through the tightest fitting aisles in shops where goods were stacked in tight. The back axle is curved upwards which means I never kicked the back of the pram even when I was close to the handle.
Storage
The Xplory comes with its own shopping basket which attaches straight onto the frame. It provides ample storage space for shopping and I could easily fit 3 full grocery bags in! When pushing the Xplory I could feel very little difference in weight from when the shopping bag was full as to when it was empty. When the seat is facing outwards and the footrest is on a low setting the shopping bag is slightly more difficult to access but not impossible. The seat also has a pocket on the back where you can store small things such as a mobile phone or your car keys.
Summary
Overall I would have to say the Stokke Xplory is one of the best prams I have owned (and I have owned many). My husband stated “it is the best in functionality, day to day use and cool looks”. Its manoeuvrability is the feature that stood out most for me making it easy to use anywhere from the busiest shop to the great outdoors. The multiple seating options are also a fantastic feature that suits a wide range of ages and sizes. My son is always very happy to ride in his ‘yellow pram’ and likes having a bird’s eye view of the world.
If you like standing out from the crowd with style the Stokke Xplory is the pram for you, it certainly is the one for me. I just need to accessorise now!Thanks for reading

Large rear wheels.
Stokke Xplory is fitted with larger forward facing rear wheels. Makes it easy to push and control your Stokke Xplory stroller.
Linked foot brake.
Locks and parks both rear wheels. Parks your Stokke Xplory and keeps your stroller precisely where you want it to be.
Durable soft rubber tyres with micro air capsules.
The Stokke Xplory is fitted with durable soft rubber tyres with micro air capsules. Reduce shock and friction when moving your Stokke Xplory and transporting your child, unlike other strollers whose wheels are often created in a similar fashion to a car wheel and inflated type which can easily puncture or wear and deflate in use.
